Handlers was started in July 2009, purely out of the need for a showlead that was easy to use. The traditional method of bundling the excess length of the cord in the hand and/or tying a knot and keeping a grip on it, was simply too distracting for the founder of the company as she needed to keep her focus on the dog and not the lead in the showring.



Bjarndis Helena Mitchell needed a handle that could provide a secure grip within the hand, concealing the excess lead length, a handle that she could fix her optimum length setting in place and not have to re-adjust it in the showring.
